CRM Studios Dallas salutes our medical professionals and first responders, forever grateful for their dedicated service to their communities. And we Congratulate Kevin Alexander and the team at CRM Studios Shreveport for their great work honoring these heroes. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Tonight my wife and I are at an event in my community called “An Evening for Healers”. It’s a highlight of my year. It’s a fundraiser for our medical school, honoring medical professionals and first responders who save lives. Our team at CRM Studios Shreveport produces two documentaries each year that are screened at these events. This year, I edited both stories. Mackenzie Kelso, a collegiate athlete who had a cardiac arrest on the practice field. And Clay Moock, who suffered 3rd degree burns over 90 percent of his body. I’ve been reflecting on these stories since May. And there are two things that I’m always amazed by, year after year after year of telling these stories. First, the power of the human spirit. I’ve met some amazing survivors. People whose stories I carry with me as I try to learn from their examples. They’ve survived some incredibly traumatic events. And yet they keep going. But also, I’m amazed by the dedication of medical professionals and first responders. Continually innovating and improvising as they do everything they can to protect and preserve human life. Heroes are real and they aren’t on the movie screen or TV. They’re in your community, dedicated to an idea… That people matter above all else. I’ll share both of the stories we produced this year as soon as they’re on YouTube, along with my personal reflections. But for tonight… I just want to say thank you to anyone and everyone I might be connected with who is a medical professional or first responder. I’ve been a bystander and observer for most of my career, watching you do what you do under unbelievable pressure. And your dedication to your community inspires me every day as I try to live in and serve mine.
