Starting this year, July 1st will be a big day for all Colorado manufacturers & distributors of... 👉 'Hemp Products' (made with non-intoxicating cannabinoids like CBD, CBN or CBG) 👉 'Safe Harbor Hemp Products' (made with intoxicating cannabinoids like Delta 8-THC, Delta 9-THC, Delta 10-THC) These licensees are now REQUIRED by the Colorado Department of Public Health to demonstrate compliance with the federal current good manufacturing practices (cGMP) for food or dietary supplements by obtaining an inspection from a department-approved third-party auditor. This rule kicked off this year and now, by July 1 of each year thereafter, hemp product facilities AND #SafeHarborHemp product facilities must get #cGMP certified by a third party. If you're in the #ColoradoHemp industry and confused about these rules, CSQ is here to help--and so is our accredited Certification Body ASI ! Drop any questions in the comments or schedule a consultation with us today by reaching out to [email protected] ✔

Current vape device manufacturing trends are unfortunately NOT headed toward higher “quality” or better-performing hardware. This race to the bottom has the potential to endanger not only the consumer but 10-20% of the cannabinoid products market. To create safe, high-quality vape products, we first need to identify specifications for performance and #HarmReduction, which is one of the many tasks our Technical Director Darwin Millard is tackling this week at the ASTM International meet-up. Check out his post to learn about other initiatives addressed at this meeting, AND get a sneak peek at the new #SafetyStandards we have in the works!
On the road again! This time to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, for ASTM International D37 Committee on #Cannabis Biannual Meeting 🌐 I am so excited to be a part of something bigger than myself and know the work we are doing will change the global cannabis industries (both #Marijuana and #Hemp) for the better. It may not always seems like that, and the road is definitely not paved, but the rewards far outweigh the burdens. This week there are 7 exciting topics I'd like to bring to your attention: Equipment & Facility Cleaning Initiative, being lead by Aaron Martin of PathoSans®, from Spraying Systems Co.. Purpose is to define what clean means, how and when to clean, and appropriate cleaning agents, etc. Occupational Health and Safety Initiative, being lead by Cassin Coleman, passionate National Cannabis Industry Association member. This group is working in collaboration with National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) & Occupational Safety and Health Administration to improve worker safety and prevent more deaths from occurring in our industry. Compressed Gas Safety & Quality Initiative, being lead by Darwin Millard of CSQ Cannabis Safety & Quality (that's right we do that too!). Purpose is to outline specifications for compressed gases used in extraction and refinement activities, along with storage containers and personnel training requirements (Adam Temple) Preroll Analysis and Characterization Initiative, being lead by Tucker Holland of Entourage Cannabis. Purpose is to improve the performance of prerolls and increase safety during manufacturing. Vape Device Safety and Testing Initiative, being lead by Darwin Millard of CSQ Cannabis Safety & Quality (I know right, what don't we do?). We are working with the largest vape device manufacturers in the world to create performance specifications and harm reduction specifications to promote safer, higher quality vape devices. 💥💥 And brand new this meeting, two new initiatives I am thrilled to announce: Plant-Derived Cannabinoid Certification - develop a set of specifications for clearly delineating plant-derived cannabinoids from those produced through precision fermentation, converted from one cannabinoid to another, or manufactured. This work is in collaboration with Josh Swider of Infinite Chemical Analysis Labs, Miyabe Shields, PhD of The Network of Applied Pharmacognosy, Alan Sutton ex-Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Martha Bajec of HCD Research, and hopefully one or two other specialist in precision fermentation and the manufacture of cannabinoids. THC-FREE Product Certification - develop a set of specifications for the maximum amount of THC in a product above which the product can NOT be classified as "thc-free". The marketplace needs it Morris Beegle, Jonathan Miller, Rod Kight, Hunter Buffington, EIHA - European Industrial Hemp Association, Canadian Hemp Trade Alliance, help the D37 make it happen. Live long and process 🖖🏼
