This simple yet vital act ensures the protection of all underground utility lines and, more importantly, everyone's safety. By calling 811 or using your state's 811 online service before digging, you can have underground utility lines, including water, natural gas, cable, internet, sewer, and electric, professionally located and marked at no cost to you. In most states, residents and contractors should contact 811 at least three business days before beginning a digging project. Once lines are marked, you’ll see little lawn flags and/or spray paint markings of various colors in/on the ground. According to the American Public Works Association Uniform Color Code, each color signifies a different utility line. For example: - Red flags indicate electric lines - Yellow means gas - Orange flags are for communication, alarm, or signal lines - Blue indicates potable water - Green flags mark sewer and drain lines. Safety is a commitment to our community's well-being. Every digging project, no matter how large or small, requires a call to 811. Our wireline team is busy this week, helping a conventional oil and gas client in Butler County, Pennsylvania with a well that needed logging and casing perforating services. We ran cement bond and casing collar locator logs to confirm the well's condition. Using this information, the client provided us with a casing perforation work plan. Our experienced team successfully completed the wireline runs and placed over 60 strategically placed perforations in preparation for the cement squeeze job scheduled for later in the week. This was an arduous well to plug with its unique position, next to a homeowner back porch and garage, and with the well condition. Our roustabout and plugging team took on the challenge and were able to make it happen. We felt for the owner, dismantling her fence, taking over her back yard and covering her house in plastic, but she was a pleasure to work with. There are about 10,000 cardiac arrests in the workplace each year in the United States, according to a report from the Occupational Safety Health Administration. CSR Services,LLC performs work in some pretty remote locations. Knowing CPR and first aid is important for our whole crew. We recently held a safety stand down to review CPR and first aid at our Geneva shop. With the knowledge and skills we discussed, our newly certified crews are better prepared should an emergency occur on or off the job site.
