This week is National Health Center week, and today, August 7th, is Patient Appreciation Day. What makes community health centers so unique? Lots of things...but one is that federal legislation requires that at least 51% of Community Health Center board members be patients at the health centers they represent. CT's seventeen community health centers serve over 420,000 patients and are an integral part of the healthcare landscape in our state. Recent legislative changes to CT Paid Leave mean that victims of sexual violence will be able to receive income replacement benefits, effective October 1, to seek medical or psychological care or counseling, attend court proceedings, relocate, or seek services from a victim services organization.
