On August 14th, we hosted a networking reception and keynote that united the International Leadership Association and the Boettcher Foundation’s Leadership Collaborative Network. This event highlighted the power of collaboration, connecting Colorado leaders with global experts, and sparking new opportunities in leadership. Keynote speaker ✨Theo Edmonds shared powerful insights on change and innovation, urging us to reflect on how our stories shape our values and guide our leadership. We recently hosted nearly 130 global leadership experts at the International Leadership Association Future Forward Leadership Summit at the University of Colorado Boulder! This summit united leading experts to address key leadership challenges and opportunities for the next 25 years, focusing on sustainability, diversity, and political turmoil. The summit featured a keynote by ✨Theo Edmonds, workshops by experts such as Becky Reichard, and a panel featuring Leadership Journal Editors. Participants will continue the work done at the summit through journal contributions, follow-up sessions at the ILA Global Conference, and podcast appearances. Dr. Stefanie K. The Herd Leadership Council raised over $3,500 during Student Philanthropy Month, directing $2,400 to the Buffs for Frontline Service Employees fund, chosen by the Herd Leaders to support the Forever Buffs community. They launched Tag Days, using tag-shaped signs to promote philanthropic campaigns and educate students about ongoing projects. Additionally, they organized the Nearly Naked Mile, collecting 1,700 articles of clothing for local nonprofits, and hosted events like Spirit Day and Grad Bash, celebrating CU Boulder achievements and enhancing student experiences through over 200 hours of volunteer work. In our Annual Report, we celebrated the success of our campus affiliate programs, including the Dalai Lama Fellows (DLF) at CU Boulder, now in its second year. This year marked a significant collaboration with the Leeds School of Business and continued participation in the global DLF program through our tri-university partnership with University of Virginia and Stanford University. Additionally, students, faculty, and staff from these universities visited Dharamshala, India, meeting with His Holiness the Dalai Lama for a two-day conversation on compassionate leadership and its impact on education, poised to influence our communities.
