It was a distinct honor to join CUNY Chancellor Felix Matos Rodriguez on his program, Café con Felo, to discuss the impact of the New York Jobs CEO Council's partnership with The City University of New York. Through our collaboration and the commitment of our member companies, we’ve been able to connect students with the in-demand skills and robust network needed to launch the careers of nearly 8,000 students in just three years. I was excited to talk about our initiatives such as the CEO Speaker Series, which allows students to hear directly from our CEOs about their career journeys and their companies’ work at events held across CUNY campuses. These events are a great example of our member companies’ commitment to #CUNYtalent and one of the ways we are ensuring local talent is connected to great career opportunities in their city. Students across New York can catch replays of these events on CUNY TV, including discussions airing with the CEOs from Accenture, American Express, and PwC. Thank you, Felo, for the opportunity to highlight our strong partnership and for your unwavering support of our shared mission to propel the careers of local students.
Our Executive Director, Kiersten Barnet, joined CUNY Chancellor Felix Matos Rodriguez on Café con Felo to discuss how we are working with The City University of New York to build a stronger New York. From curriculum reviews to apprenticeships to resume tips, the Jobs Council is supporting #CUNYstudents to secure well-paying jobs right here in New York by equipping them with the skills and training that employers seek in today’s workforce. Together with CUNY, we’re working to ensure that New York is a place where everyone can make it. Watch the full program on Fridays-Sundays at 8 PM to learn more about our work with CUNY on CUNY TV here: https://tr.ee/QYEzp4DOvE If you’re a student, connect with us directly by joining our Talent Network here: https://tr.ee/SWLsG9BOq5
