About to begin a new school year? How about a new job to go with it? We are seeking Student Trainee (Auditor) GS 3-4 with the Office of Trade. There are five locations to choose from. Major duties for this position include but are not limited to: Applying conventional audit techniques under the guidance of a supervisory auditor or higher-level auditor in charge to complete fundamental and relatively uncomplicated audits or portions of more complicated audits. Serving as a student trainee/trainee, assigned to senior managers and auditors in charge, in the performance of auditing and accounting function. Performing a variety of assigned tasks designed to provide on-the-job training and experience in auditing Importers and other trade related entities through the practical application of generally accepted government auditing standards and Trade Regulatory Audit policy and procedures. Preparing automated audit documentation in the form of documents, spreadsheets, pivot tables, charts, etc., to provide sufficient and appropriate evidence to support audit findings. The #PathwaysProgram is designed to provide #students enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with opportunities to work in agencies and explore Federal careers while still in school and while getting paid for the work performed. Congratulations to Shaine Casas who qualified for the U.S. Olympic swim team and will compete in the 2024 Olympic Games this summer in Paris. Casas, 24, placed 2nd in the 200-meter individual medley at the Olympic Trials held in Indianapolis last Friday. He is the son of former Border Patrol Agent James Epling, whose tragic line of duty death occurred during a 2003 rescue on the Colorado River. Shaine’s mother, Monica Epling, determined to instill courage and a love for the water in her son, introduced Shaine to swimming while he was a child. The Epling legacy of honor continues through their four sons: Sean Casas, a proud Arizona State graduate, Olympic swimmer Shaine Casas, and Seth MacKenzie-Epling and James Epling II—who are serving their country in the Marine Corps.
