  • Meet Jasmine Barlow from the Holy Trinity High School Class of 2017! After attending Coe College in Iowa, Jasmine is currently enrolled in a graduate program at Adler University for Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Check out what Jasmine has to share with us for this week’s #AlumniThenAndNow spotlight! 💙What was DMSF’s impact on you? 💛 Receiving a DMSF scholarship allowed me to attend a high school that suited me best as someone who learns best with small class sizes and a community feeling with faculty, staff, and students. I learned that I enjoyed meeting new people, despite being a bit shy as a kid. 💙For you, what does it mean to be a Murphy Scholar? 💛 To me, it means that I have a community of supportive, encouraging people who looked after me while I was in high school and who genuinely care and want to see me succeed. 💙What advice do you have for current Murphy Scholars? 💛 You're doing great and it's okay to go a bit easier on yourself. It’s been incredible to watch your growth, Jasmine, we are so proud of you!! #35YearsOfMurphyScholars #AlumniThen&Now #HighSchoolScholarship #EducationAccess

  • In this week’s #AlumniThenAndNow, we are highlighting Charise Pisani from the St. Ignatius College Prep Class of 2021. Charise is attending Texas Christian University working towards her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre with an acting emphasis. 💙What was DMSF’s impact on you? 💛 The DMSF Scholarship changed the course of my educational experience. Without the support I received from DMSF, I never would have been able to attend St. Ignatius College Prep, where I truly grew as an individual and discovered my life's calling. I am forever grateful for the Daniel Murphy Scholarship Fund and all the guidance they have given me over these past few years. There was never a moment that I didn't feel encouraged and supported with DMSF by my side. I learned that I am strong, intelligent, and capable of more than I realized. 💙For you, what does it mean to be a Murphy Scholar? 💛 Being a Murphy Scholar means being a part of a proud community filled with intelligent and passionate individuals. Every Murphy Scholar I've met has passion and drive like no other, and I am honored to be a part of that. 💙 If you could give your high school self a piece of advice what would it be? 💛 I would tell my high school self to not be too hard on myself. I would pat myself on the back for all I accomplished at St. Ignatius, and tell myself to remember the skills I've gained. Remember what an accomplishment it is to graduate from such a challenging school. And that I have gained a lot of versatile talents from this experience. Thanks for sharing with the DMSF community, Charise! #35YearsOfMurphyScholars #AlumniThen&Now #HighSchoolScholarship
