We're excited to share that Eric Fett of NGP Capital has highlighted the pivotal role of Security Data Layers (Data Fabrics) in shaping the future of cybersecurity and AI. We're honored to be recognized as a leader in the emerging field of AI-native cybersecurity solutions for enterprise data. A big thank you to Eric and the team at NGP Capital for this recognition! This follows an ongoing conversation discussing security data fabrics, led by insightful comments from experts such as Cole Grolmus and Francis Odum. At DataBahn.ai, we believe data engineers will be the backbone of the AI revolution, especially since data issues are 3x more likely to derail AI/ML initiatives. Data quality cannot be overcome by advancement in AI models, and data engineers have to ensure that AI systems receive high-quality accurate features. They will also need to ensure access to diverse data sources and types, for which they'll need scalable and flexible data pipelines as well as intelligent systems to focus on relevant data and route unimportant data to cost-effective storage solutions to make this transition feasible.   The need for real-time data is another major shift. AI's increasing sophistication requires real-time data for accurate decision-making. Data engineers are now tasked with managing the growing volume and velocity of data from sources like cybersecurity, observability/IT data, IoT/OT devices, and other digital platforms.   Finally, the proliferation of sensitive data emphasizes the need for robust data governance. To avoid data leaks through AI models, data engineers must collaborate with data scientists, security experts, and stakeholders to establish comprehensive governance frameworks, implementing best practices to safeguard data from unauthorized access and breaches. Additionally, data engineers must integrate AI tools into their own development workflows. It's not just about building data pipelines for AI; it's also about using AI to enhance data engineering processes.   At Databahn, we believe data orchestration is the foundational step for unlocking the potential of AI. A knowledge layer combined with specialized skill sets simplifies and automates the feature engineering process, empowering teams to effortlessly craft impactful variables for machine learning models. From dimensionality reduction to advanced transformations, Databahn ensures that features are not just engineered but optimized for predictive accuracy. Our integrated data transformation capabilities seamlessly support feature engineering and vectorization, providing a cohesive environment for advanced data processing. This empowers organizations to extract maximum value from their data.

In the wake of recent service disruptions, it’s easy to come across memes and posts mocking CrowdStrike and the impact on their customer IT and security teams. However, instead of joining the chorus of ambulance chasing and mockery, let's shift our focus to something more meaningful. What truly stands out in situations like these is the incredible responsiveness and ownership demonstrated by CrowdStrike and their partners. Their swift action to restore services and ensure customer protection is commendable. Remember, such challenges can happen to any organization. It's not about the incident itself, but how it's managed that defines the true character of a company. Seasoned leaders within enterprises and technology providers know this well. They understand the importance of learning from these experiences, staying ahead of potential issues, and continuing to march forward with resilience. Let's appreciate and support the efforts of those who strive to maintain service integrity and security, even in the face of adversity. I have been working recently with a relatively new company, DataBahn (databahn.ai), and want to introduce Nanda Santhana, the CEO of DataBahn. Many of you may already know Nanda from his previous startup (Securonix) but I’ve also been very impressed with the capabilities of this new venture. Nanda has an extensive background in cybersecurity and I believe Databahn is working to tackle a common challenge for all practioners. Some of the things I like about DataBahn’s Security Data Fabric: >Cost Reduction/Avoidance: DataBahn’s unique volume reduction rules separate security events from non-security events, routing non-security data to cold storage. This reduces costs on your SIEM/SDL and platforms like Datadog, Splunk, Snowflake, MS Sentinel, Sumo Logic, LogRhythm, and Securonix. >They offer Data Ingestion as a service, eliminating the need to invest in Security Engineers for data normalization, parsing, schema drift monitoring, and data replay. >Recently they have added RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation)that provides vectorization as a service, enabling future integration of your cyber data with LLMs to gain deeper insights. I’m excited about what these capabilities can bring as most of us are under cost pressure and looking for ways to drive efficiency and effectiveness. Happy to make a personal introduction to Nanada and his team if you’re interested, just let me know.
