The Defense Department’s flagship digital modernization strategy included strategic goals that were not always “specific, verifiable and measurable,” potentially leading to performance gaps or changes in mission needs, according to a new audit from the Pentagon’s Inspector General. Facing confusion from industry, allies and partners about how they can best engage with military components and understand contractual and decision-making structures, the Defense Innovation Board is calling on Pentagon leadership to launch an internal reorganization and establish a new undersecretariat focused on international industrial cooperation. NATO leaders sharply condemned hybrid warfare threats in a new communiqué, as reports of such adversarial sabotage, cyberattacks, electronic interference, and other malign activities to undermine the alliance’s members continue to intensify. The Department of the Air Force released a presolicitation Tuesday as it looks for new target-tracking capabilities fueled by AI and other cutting-edge technologies. The Pentagon’s network protector is running a pilot to improve how it does intelligence for defensive cyber. The pilot is being conducted by Joint Force Headquarters-Department of Defense Information Network — a subordinate headquarters under U.S. Cyber Command responsible for defending the DOD’s network globally — and the Defense Intelligence Agency, which is responsible for providing intel on foreign militaries and owning all the intelligence directorates, or J2s, at the combatant commands. https://lnkd.in/emMhkYr3
