Four trailblazing women have been selected as 2024 inductees to the Delaware Women's Hall of Dame. Congratulations to Raye Jones Avery, with 35 years in public service focused on arts-based community development, including more three decades as Executive Director of Christina Cultural Arts Center; Julissa Coriano, a clinical social worker and sexuality therapist in private practice and co-founder of Orgullo Delaware where she pioneered clinical support services for LGBTQIA-identified Latines and their families; Anna Marie Leo, founder of the Anna Marie Dance Studio in Wilmington, where she taught dance for more than 70 years while serving as National Vice-President of the National Association of Dance and Affiliated Artists; and Delaware State Police Colonel Melissa Zebley, the first woman to service as Superintendent of DSP, where as Chief Executive Officer she oversees Delaware’s largest enforcement agency of 700+ sworn troopers and 300 professional staff. Delaware State University's Helicopter Flight Training program will double its students when school starts this fall. Delaware State University received a portion of $10 million from the National Park Service aimed at preserving historic structures at #HBCUs. Delaware State will rehabilitate a pre-1885, three-story frame building with Queen Anne architectural features on its downtown Dover campus, which was originally part of Wesley College. The Chemours Company recently hosted #Delaware high school students at the Chemours Discovery Hub, its state-of-the-art, sustainably designed research and development facility on University of Delaware's Science, Technology and Advanced Research (STAR) Campus.
