Shaping the Future of Healthcare! Ambassador Jesper Møller Sørensen brought together key leaders and stakeholders for a dynamic discussion on the future of healthcare in the U.S. The conversation explored critical areas such as drug development, regulatory science, market access, healthcare coverage, and patient advocacy. Denmark's health and life science sector is not only a priority for the Danish government but also a vital part of the national economy. Remarkably, this sector accounts for more than half of all Danish merchandise exports to the U.S., underscoring its importance. The event featured a keynote by Dr. Mark McClellan, including his insightful remarks focused on the rapidly changing healthcare landscape and the challenges ahead. LEO Pharma, a leading Danish life science company specializing in dermatology, also participated, contributing to the conversation about the future of innovation, access, and care in medical dermatology. Ambassador Møller Sørensen closed the discussion by emphasizing the need for strong partnerships across sectors and borders to tackle the complex challenges facing healthcare today. He expressed his gratitude to all participants for their valuable insights and engaging dialogue.

What a week in Washington! We took part in the Quantum World Congress where large parts of the global quantum ecosystem gathered for discussions, shared exciting recent technological developments and exchanged best practices on policies needed to develop them further. Denmark was well represented at the conference with presentations and debates on stage from our #InternationalQuantumHub - and on the sides of the conference, where the Danish Ambassador to the United States Jesper Møller Sørensen hosted a quantum VIP dinner and reception. It was an opportunity to celebrate Niels Bohr’s famous Copenhagen spirit and discuss what modern day international collaboration on quantum should entail. Bilateral discussions with our wonderful US colleagues allowed us to dive deeper into implementation of the DK-US quantum MoU and explore avenues to increase cooperation on research and policy further. The group of 13 leading and likeminded countries on quantum also met and agreed on new areas for collaboration in coming months on areas such as mapping, use cases and skills development (btw did you know you can read about quantum exchange opportunities within each of those countries here 👉 https://lnkd.in/eXfMmKsW) The conclusion from the week? When it comes to quantum, no one can do it alone. The scale of the technology, the specialized nature of the quantum supply chains and the geopolitics around it require strong cooperation among trusted likeminded to ensure that we unlock the full potential of this exciting technology to the benefit of our societies! Right now in Denmark: North American state representatives tour the Danish energy sector 🇩🇰🇺🇲 These days, our advisors Amalie Gioedesen Thystrup and Benedikte Borg Pedersen are joined by a diverse group of state representatives from Arizona, Kansas, Nevada, North Dakota and Texas to explore Denmark’s approach to the green energy transition, sustainability and circularity in production. A few highlights from the trip so far include: 👉 Learning about the Danish electricity and natural gas transmission system at Energinet. 👉 Meeting with Stiesdal, Welcon A/S, and BioCirc and gaining insights into their operations and contributions to the renewable energy sector and biomethane production in Denmark. 👉 Visiting GreenLab and exploring the potentials of green and circular energy parks. Today, the group is visiting Vestas’ headquarters to discuss the role of wind energy in the future of global energy production and visiting Ørsted’s Anholt Offshore Wind Farm – Denmark’s largest offshore wind farm consisting of 111 wind turbines. Now is an exciting time to explore solutions within the energy transition. A growing number of states across the US are introducing legislation and funding projects that enable and promote clean energy production, propelling the North American energy transition forward. These developments create significant opportunities for collaboration and the exchange of knowledge on both sides of the Atlantic. Which makes this delegation even more relevant. 👏 We want to thank everyone who has participated in inspirational discussions this week: State of Green Denmark, U.S. Embassy in the Kingdom of Denmark, DTU - Technical University of Denmark, Ørsted, Energinet, Port Esbjerg, Stiesdal, Welcon A/S

Tonight, Ambassador Jesper Møller Sørensen alongside our Minister Counselor Thomas Viskum Lytken Larsen and colleagues from Denmark proudly hosted an extraordinary gathering at the Ambassador’s Residence of leading Danish and American policymakers and industry experts in quantum science and technology. The dinner was followed by a “Quantum Happy Hour” including a compelling presentation by Vilhelm Bohr, esteemed scientist and grandson of leading pioneer in quantum physics, Niels Bohr. Denmark has long been at the forefront of quantum research, and this evening was a unique opportunity for U.S. and Danish experts to explore avenues for collaboration that will drive ground-breaking advancements in quantum technology. International collaboration is a corner stone of the Danish National Quantum Strategy, where Denmark’s #InternationalQuantumHub led by the Office of Denmark's Tech Ambassador aims to build strong quantum partnerships with key partners like the U.S to the mutual benefit of our quantum ecosystems. Together, we are building bridges between Denmark and the U.S. in the pursuit of scientific innovation, aiming to create a future where our shared expertise leads to mutually beneficial breakthroughs.
