Development Workshop Namibia

Non-profit Organizations

A Namibian NGO with programmes on social housing, urban sanitation and early childhood development

About us

Development Workshop Namibia (DWN) was founded in 2016 and today implements three major programs: HOUSING FOR ALL: An initiative to address the housing crisis in Southern Africa. By planning and developing residential land with property title at the lowest possible cost, we provide access to housing to those that otherwise end up in slums and informal settlements. PLAY FOR ALL: An early childhood development (ECD) program that supports ECD centres in informal settlements, whereby we contribute to the improvement of education when it matters most, at the early age between 0-7 years. COMMUNITY LED TOTAL SANITATION: An urban sanitation project that uses a community approach to improve sanitation in existing informal settlements, facilitating the construction of toilets by informal settlement residents. Projects are implemented in 15 towns, benefitting informal settlement residents. DWN currently has 25 employees, headquarters in Windhoek and seven field offices. DWN is part of a world-wide network of Development Workshop organisations and works closely with Development Workshop Zambia (DWZ), and Development Workshop Switzerland (DWS). If you would like to stay in touch with all of our programmes, please also follow the DWS LinkedIn page where the latest updates will be posted first.
