In honor of the brave first responders and the NYC community, DGC’s client Rethink teamed up with the FealGood Foundation to bring to life a campaign, “Walls of Honor,” aimed at sharing the stories of the first responders living with 9/11-related illnesses. For the remainder of this week, Manhattan and Brooklyn pizzerias, including some of our team’s favorites (Prince Street Pizza, Patsy’s, Juliana’s, John’s of Bleecker, and Paulie Gee’s Slice Shop), have replaced the countless recognizable photos of celebrities on their walls with photos of first responders with hope to bring awareness to the recurring issues stemming from the tragic event. This year’s #ParisOlympics marked a milestone in history: the first-ever Games with the same number of male and female athletes. But, parity DOESN’T mean equality. How can brands invest in women athletes to ensure real progress toward a gender-equal society?🟰🏅 DGC client Christine Guilfoyle, President of SEEHER, recently shared with Ad Age and Campaign US that there is an incredible opportunity for marketers when it comes to #WomenInSports, both during and outside of the Olympics, to broaden their audiences and set a standard for representation across the industry. According to Christine, “As [people] see and/or become comfortable with seeing [that physicality] in the cultural zeitgeist, then marketers will feel more comfortable incorporating that and pushing the envelope for that to be included.” In other words, brands must shape narratives and tell accurate stories that depict the true nature of their sports – sweat, physicality, grit, and more – to create change. She also added the biggest driver towards an equal future: momentum. “The growth and excitement for women’s athletics will continue to expand. Companies that sit on the sidelines will miss significant business opportunities. RAPP partnered up with Irth, the app dedicated to combating biases in black maternal healthcare, to release its latest campaign, ‘Drop the B’. 📣 Hear from Erica Kraus, SVP US Health Strategy Lead at RAPP, on what it's all about: “Drop the B is about shining a light on this problem that absolutely needs to be eradicated.
