Today, we would like to take a moment to remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001. It has been 23 years since that tragic day, yet the memories remain vivid in our hearts. We reflect on the bravery of the first responders, the resilience of the survivors, and the unity that brought us together as a nation. As we remember this day, let us also recognize the strength and courage that emerged from the darkness. We honor the heroes who risked their lives and the families who endured unimaginable loss. Their stories continue to inspire us to be better, to be kinder, and to stand united as a country. At Disa, we are committed to fostering a culture of remembrance and respect. We encourage everyone to take a moment today to reflect, to remember, and to honor those who were affected by this tragedy. #NeverForget

We have been accepted into BHP's Comminution Open Call Challenge as a finalist. This challenge seeks innovators with ideas to enhance mineral extraction processes by reducing energy consumption or increasing throughput in rock comminution. We will collaborate with BHP to explore the potential of High-Pressure Slurry Ablation (HPSA) as a comminution technology. The study will not only assess the applicability of HPSA at BHP assets but will also explore other niche applications across the value chain to maximize value addition. This is an exciting opportunity for Disa to work on a project that has the potential to make a significant impact in the industry. #Comminution #BHP #Mining #Innovation

Congratulations Comminution Open Call Finalists! We went out into the world to find innovators with ideas to help us reduce energy consumption or increase throughput by changing the way we crush, pulverise and grind rocks for mineral extraction. Finalists will work together with us to understand the opportunities of their comminution technologies. Think & Act Differently (TAD) are partnering with Sedgman Pty Limited to help us complete a study to compare twelve technologies. The study will understand their potential for materially improving overall comminution system capital and operating costs at scale. We will not only focus on comminution applicability at BHP assets, but also consider other niche applications across the value chain to add additional value. Think & Act Differently work together with innovators in different ways to accelerate technologies that could help us deliver resources more efficiently. Energy and Densification Systems (Pty) Ltd - Rock breakage technology overlapping with tertiary crushing and primary milling. Greenearth Global and Revolution - Controlled vortexes that combine rock-on-rock collisions & rapid direction changes for fragmentation. Weir Minerals - Provides high pressure grinding rolls - alternative to SAG mills. GRolls - Overlapping gyratory rolls at crushing stage - to achieve fine/ultrafine particle sizes. Disa Technologies, Inc. – HPSA (High-Pressure Slurry Ablation) technology, focussing on particle-particle/rock-on-rock collisions. ReThink Milling Inc - CAHM (conjugate anvil hammer mill) involves an inner hammer roll, breaking feed via shrinking gap between anvil and hammer. (https://hubs.li/Q02GSRTG0) Sharp Pulse - Using pulse plasma power technology to break rock. (https://hubs.li/Q02GSS0T0) University of Nottingham / S.H.O.T - Microwave energy to reduce forces required for rock breakage. Comminution Reimagined Sweden AB - ARBS Mill - Single pass roller mill. Rockburst Technologies - Transcritical carbon dioxide comminution technology. The University of Queensland x Sustainable Minerals Institute x JKMRC – High voltage preconditioning of rock prior to further crushing. (https://hubs.li/Q02GSQVS0) NaturaFrac - Pulsed dynamic combustion for preconditioning. (https://hubs.li/Q02GSPwH0)
