Home or business damaged by Beryl? Report it. If your home or business was damaged by Hurricane Beryl, you are encouraged to report the damage to officials with the Individual State of Texas Assessment Tool (iSTAT) survey. The information you provide helps officials identify what resources are needed, and also determine if the state can get federal disaster assistance. • iSTAT English: tinyurl.com/Beryl-iSTAT • iSTAT Español: tinyurl.com/Beryl-iSTAT-ES #HurricaneBeryl #StormDamage #Texas

When Ann Magill attended an ADA anniversary event in 2010 that was held in the basement of an independent living center, it sparked a desire in her to bring the celebration out into the public eye. In 2019, she created the first-ever Disability Pride Flag. In 2021 the colors were updated to be more sensory friendly. What do the colors mean? Green is for sensory disabilities. Blue represents mental health disabilities. White stands for non-visible and undiagnosed disabilities. Gold is for neurodiversity. Red represents physical disabilities. The faded charcoal black background commemorates and mourns disabled people who’ve died due to ableism, violence, negligence, suicide, rebellion, illness and eugenics. This July, join us as we celebrate Disability Pride Month and raise the Disability Pride flag. #DisabilityPrideMonth

“The HUD Complaint Generator inspired me to report a potential violation that happened back in February. Where a complaint was on my list of things to do, the tool made it super easy to prepare a complaint and mail it off. Thank you so much for creating the generator!” (Feedback from someone who recently used our new online tool.) If you think you may be facing housing discrimination because of disability, race, color, national origin, religion, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), or familial status, our new website resource can help you file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
