Coming out of #DisabilityPride Month, we are thrilled to highlight and share this video from Disability:IN Corporate Partner, Disability Equality Index Top-Scoring Company, and Inclusive Business of the Year award recipient, Wells Fargo! Discover how Wells Fargo fosters an environment of #Inclusion that celebrates diversity and empowers employees to bring their full selves to work. We loved learning from the employees who shared their journey of overcoming obstacles, finding acceptance, and thriving within the company. Their stories each highlight the importance of including #Disabilities and the positive impact of a supportive workplace culture. Chauncy Barnhill, MBA, Adrian Vela, Alex Lieberman, Andrew Holbrook, Vivian Nguyen, Michael Gillott, Karen Flaxer, MPS, PHR, SHRM-CP, Kenny Jean, Kalyn Morris. [VD: Montage video including multiple diverse Wells Fargo employees and accompanying b-roll overlayed on the screen as they speak. Open captions and subtitles populate at the bottom of the screen.] Transcript: I would encourage the conversation to be focused on abilities and what the person can do. When I joined this great institution at Wells Fargo one thing stuck out to me and in that was a phrase, bring your true self to work. I’m a published writer i have a graduate degree, but because of something I can’t help, I was at the point where I was failing to keep down part-time jobs. I know personally what it involves to get education and get jobs in a workforce that may not be the most receptive. I made friends from the interview process from the get-go because I was able to have that level of individuality. This firm has a humanity that I don’t think many people know about. I’ve had an opportunity to have worked on a number of initiatives, focused on helping to improve and increase diversity in the workplace, particularly within the disability segment. I realized the importance of bringing my full self to work and I started to disclose my lifelong learning disabilities. At Wells Fargo, we’re a lot more of a team-based. It was empowering to earn my own independence, I can contribute to society and I can follow my own dreams. Wells Fargo gave me a career and it’s not a chance I would've had otherwise and I’m not going to forget.
