PSD202 Hiring Bilingual Individuals for a variety of teaching posts Plainfield School District 202 is seeking bilingual individuals to serve as Dual Language- One Way Teachers, TBE Teachers, Teacher Assistants (TAs), substitutes, and office support staff in schools across the district.   If you are fluent in Spanish in addition to English and hold a Bachelor’s degree from any country, you are able to apply for a temporary bilingual teaching license to teach in a Dual Language-One Way class or a TBE position! To qualify, you would need to pass a Spanish language proficiency test and provide your transcripts to the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) to become eligible for a temporary Educator License with Stipulations for Transitional BIlingual Education (ELS-TBE), which lasts for five (5) years.   The highest current need in the EL Programs is for fluent Spanish-speakers; however, If you or anyone you know speaks another language and holds a Bachelor’s degree, we encourage you to contact our Director of Linguistics and Diversity, Cindy Castanon at [email protected].

Congratulations to Margie Bonuchi, retired D202 Technology Director on receiving the 2023 Walter G. and Juanita F. Niehus Award. The Niehus Award honors certified or non-certified staff and support members who have shown extraordinary commitment to students, parents, and employees. The Plainfield Foundation for Excellence presented the Niehus Award to Bonuchi at the District 202 Board of Education’s May 29, 2024, regular meeting.
