Diverse Attorney Pipeline Program (DAPP)
Legal Services
The first national, 501(c)(3) organization founded to cultivate and grow the pipeline of women of color lawyers.
About us
The mission of the Diverse Attorney Pipeline Program (DAPP) is to nurture and support the next generation of women of color attorneys and infuse the pipeline with diverse women of color law students who are empowered tackle the rigors of the legal profession. Born in 2013, DAPP was created to address the continued decline of underrepresented women of color lawyers in large law firms. Its founders first brainstormed about the program after discovering a disconnect between the number of highly-qualified, talented women of color lawyers in contrast to law firms’ continued struggle to identify, recruit, and retain qualified women of color at the associate and partner levels. DAPP seeks to directly solve this problem by preparing first-year, women of color law students for the rigors of big law through intensive academic support, rigorous professional development, student and attorney mentorship and internship opportunities. DAPP currently runs four (4) national programs specifically for 1L women of color law students: National Scholars Program, #PrepDAPP Boot Camp, DAPP Direct Job Placement Fair, Client Readiness Boot Camp.

We are continuing the road to DAPP’s 10th Anniversary Celebration with another DAPP alumna who is making waves in the legal profession while investing in the next generation of women lawyers - please meet Kaylene Khosla! Kaylene is an alumna of our DAPP Direct National Job Placement Fair and is currently a litigation associate at WilmerHale and a member of the DAPP Board of Directors. As a student (left headshot), Kaylene didn’t let starting law school during a global pandemic slow her down, and she finished her 1L year with impressive grades that allowed her to transfer to Berkeley Law School and land a prestigious internship with one of DAPP’s New York firm partners. She was also a member of the South Asian Law Student Association, a Senior Editor for the Berkeley Journal of International Law, and member of the Berkeley Jessup International Moot Court Team where she won the Appellate Advocacy Rising Star Award. As a lawyer (right headshot), Kaylene recently completed a clerkship on the D.C. Court of Appeals before rejoining the firm where she focuses on a number of litigation matters, including taking on pro bono cases in the human rights realm. A self-starter by nature, Kaylene started volunteering for DAPP during her 2L year of law school (🎉🎉) and hasn’t stopped helping us build this pipeline several years later. She is an invaluable part of the DAPP family and we can’t wait to see what she does next! Please join us to celebrate DAPP’s 10th Anniversary and meet some of our outstanding alumnae on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 5:30pm at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and Affiliates’s Chicago office.
