Yesterday, Dr. Plumb highlighted the CDAO's contributions to the whole-of-DoD approach to building a National Background Investigation Services system during the Senate Select Committee for Intelligence hearing on Personnel Vetting, Security Clearance Reform, and Trusted Workforce 2.0. Our Defense Digital Services (DDS) team is working closely with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) to identify what right looks like for this important IT system that supports the federal government's personnel vetting processes. Yesterday, our Warfighter Capabilities Chief & #TaskForceLima Commander, CAPT X Lugo, & Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA)'s Program Manager for Information and Innovation Office (I20), Dr. Velasquez, provided refreshing perspectives and interesting insight on implementing #AI solutions across the United States Department of Defense at Amazon Web Services (AWS)'s Public Sector Summit #DoD Day. The discussion included comparisons of "classic" AI versus #generativeAI use cases and approaches and ended with a key takeaway about the #humancapital gap in this federal space. The panelists agreed on an ideal talent pool including operational experts AND #data experts with an overlapping understanding of their respective expertise.
