Earlier this week, our Office Director, Wahleah Johns, toured the ZenniHome facility alongside colleagues, including Jigar Shah, Director of the DOE Loan Programs Office. ZenniHome produces modular, pre-fabricated smart homes using recycled or sustainable materials. The factory is built on the former site of the shuttered Navajo Generating Station (NGS), once the largest coal plant west of the Mississippi River. ZenniHome employs more than 100 former NGS employees, and has been awarded a multi-million dollar contract to build homes for the Navajo community.
