A quick pit stop in Pueblo - heading to Denver after an amazing morning in Walsenburg, Colorado with the leaders at Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center. With a hospital, a veterans community living center (with a few WWII veterans in residence!), and other services that improve health in the area, the organization and team are awesome. It’s my third trip out here this year, and today marks the launch of a new strategic plan. After focus grouping, surveying, multiple design workshops, testing strategy prototypes, blending in amazing data from Colorado Hospital Association….I think we emerged with something that really incorporates the voices and expertise of the team. Now the hard part - executing the plan! Thank you so much Kay Whitley and the entire team at SPRHC for being brilliant thinking partners and very generous hosts :)

Over the past few months, we’ve worked with the North Carolina Healthcare Association to develop and execute programming around transportation barriers to health in Robeson County. This work is part of a $900,000 investment from NCHF’s Social Impact Program, which is funded by the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust. Under this investment, NCHA is awarding five organizations mini-grants to expand their work in transportation access. Through our programming, these champion organizations will also collaborate to find new, system-level solutions for transportation barriers to health in the Robeson community. The solutions they develop will be shared state-wide and leveraged to attract financial support. We are thrilled to officially announce our five mini-grant recipients!
