Smart Irrigation Solutions: Tackling Climate Change, One Drop at a Time

About us

Rooted in East Lansing and endorsed by Michigan State University, our team collaborates closely with the university and various agricultural groups to implement a revolutionary low-cost sensor monitoring system, essential for optimizing irrigation and ensuring superior crop quality. Our tested innovations, validated in over 25 Michigan farms demonstrate a notable 30% improvement in water use efficiency, offering a cost-effective solution to farmers and contributing towards a greener planet. Effective disease management in agriculture involves reducing fertilizer and fungi usage through advanced AI decision tools that provide comprehensive analysis and tailored recommendations. These tools optimize water levels, ensuring plants receive the right amount of hydration. Real-time alerts for critical indicators allow for immediate action, significantly improving crop yield by up to 30%. Algorithms process vast amounts of data to determine the optimal timing for irrigation and fungicide application, as well as assess disease severity. This data-driven approach ensures precise interventions, enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of farming practices while promoting healthier crops and reducing environmental impact.

  • 🌟 Exciting News! 🌟 We are thrilled to announce the first installment of Bluewise, our AI-driven Remote Monitoring System designed to revolutionize agricultural management. Bluewise continuously monitors soil moisture, leaf wetness, temperature, and humidity. The collected data is sent to an IoT cloud webserver via an embedded cellular modem, allowing farmers to access it remotely. Our advanced algorithms process this data to determine optimal irrigation timing, fungicide spray timing, and disease severity values (DSV). This milestone marks the beginning of a new era for our team and our clients. We're proud to bring this innovative solution to the farming community, enhancing productivity and sustainability. A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed to bringing Bluewise to life. Your dedication and hard work have made this achievement possible. 🚀 Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to roll out new features and enhancements. The future with Bluewise is bright!

New Enterprise Forum is excited to announce that registration is now open for our monthly NEF forum meeting happening on Thursday, June 20, at Ann Arbor SPARK. The event will kick off at 5:00 p.m. with food, drink and networking, with the programming starting at 5:45 p.m.. And what an agenda it will be! We will have not only one, but two, showcase investor presentations from entrepreneurs and their startup companies that recently completed the NEF coaching process. One will be Matt Henry, Co-Founder and CEO of EarthMetric Innovations, which is pioneering agriculture through cutting-edge and cost-effective solutions, empowering farmers and addressing climate change-induced challenges. The second will be Jerold Zwas, CEO for PakItGreen, which is creating new technologies for a sustainable planet, offering packaging coatings that are recyclable, compostable, biodegradable and PFAS-free. But that is not all for the evening! NEF is very proud to be able to host a special expert panel discussion entitled "The Devil Is in the Details - Getting Angel Deals Done." Angel investors look at dozens of deals every year and only invest in a few. This panel will explore the investors' perspective and successful strategies that have worked for startups that have gotten deals done. Hear how angel investors are building their portfolios and what it takes to become one of their investments. Diane Durance, a leading expert in Michigan's startup community, will be our moderator. The panelists will be Dawn Hines, Managing Partner at Aventura Investment Partners and CEO of Hines Industries, Inc.; Michael Koziara, Chair of the Angel Investment Review Committee at Michigan Capital Network; and Don Ufford, Member and Investor at Woodward Angels. Our New Enterprise Forum event last night was a textbook example of the mission statement of NEF: Coaching. Perfecting. Connecting. We had an A+ showcase investor presentation from Tim Moore, CEO and Co-Founder of Clixie AI, after his completion of the NEF coaching process. Tim's father would definitely have been proud, as Larry Moore had been the winner of the New Enterprise Forum Entrepreneur of the Year award in 1990. And then we had a master class educational event entitled "Current Trends in Financings," given by Terrence J.L. Reeves, JD, MBA, Attorney and Advisor at GwC. Everybody in the room came away a wiser member of the startup ecosystem after hearing what Terrence had to share. Congratulations to Tim and thank you to Terrence! Mark your calendar for our next NEF forum event, again at Ann Arbor SPARK, happening on Thursday, June 20, beginning at 5 PM. We will have a showcase investor presentation from Matt Henry, Co-Founder and CEO of EarthMetric Innovations, and an expert panel discussion entitled "The Devil Is in the Details: Getting Angel Deals Done," moderated by Diane Durance. See you then!
