EIRMC is the first (and only!) hospital in Idaho to earn the "Expert" designation for Pediatric Care Readiness, the highest level from the state of Idaho Emergency Medical Services for Children Program (Idaho EMSC). This speaks volume about the quality of pediatric care in our ER. Here's a rundown on why we earned this amazing designation: - EIRMC has a pediatric ER just for kids and their families. - We have pediatric- sized equipment for children of all ages. - We have a Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinator (PECC) involved in care for kiddos. - ER nurses are trained in pediatric advanced life support, emergency nursing pediatric course (that's not standard in most ERs, by the way!). After a drunk driver hit Debbie while riding her motorcycle in Teton National Park, she had extensive injuries. Shout out to Devan from the Idaho Cancer Center at EIRMC. He was recognized by a colleague for going above and beyond to help a patient. “There is a patient originally from the Philippines receiving treatment. It became evident the cancer was spreading and this patient was going to pass away. She mentioned to Devan how much she missed her home in the Philippines and hoped to taste certain foods one more time before she passed away. Devan has a neighbor from the Philippines who helped Devan prepare a special soup just for this patient. On the patient’s last day of treatment, Devan brought in a big batch of this soup so she could have one last taste of her homeland.” #WeShowUp

Idaho Cancer Center at EIRMC remains the only hospital in Idaho accredited by the American College of Radiology for radiation oncology. This means EIRMC met the ACR’s high standards for quality and safety in medical imaging/radiation oncology treatment. #RaiseTheBar #WeShowUp #TakeMeToEIRMC

Amber Corsetti is retiring from full-time work at EIRMC, and riding off into the sunset! She has been a Physical Therapy Assistant at EIRMC for 21 years and has been a fabulous co-worker and caregiver. Amber is the type of therapist we want our family members to work with. She will be missed on the 7 on/7 off rotation but will still be around PRN to help out occasionally. If you see her, please wish her a congratulations and good luck!

EIRMC is the only facility in Southeast Idaho that is PET ACR oncology accredited! What does that mean? The EIRMC PET program is among the elite accredited destinations in the USA to perform PET oncology imaging. This accreditation from The American College of Radiology (ACR) demonstrates that EIRMC meets their highest bar, which is considered the gold standard in medical imaging. The accreditation process is rigorous, so that patients get the most benefit and includes clinical examinations, quality control and performance tests, and review of clinical outcomes.
