A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated Emerging Leaders board member, Hannah Kessel! Hannah’s commitment to the Susan Sargen Student Enterprise Program (StEP) goes beyond volunteering—she’s ensuring our students have the resources they need by shopping directly from StEP Director Erin Harris' Amazon Wish List. Through StEP, we empower thousands of students across Greater Cincinnati to earn virtual StEP bucks for their good behavior, attendance, and classroom achievements. These young learners are gaining invaluable life skills as they decide whether to save, spend, or donate their earnings to a cause their school supports. It’s about instilling early financial literacy, responsible decision-making, and the joy of giving back. Hannah’s generosity is making a significant impact, and you can help, too. Let’s continue to support these hardworking students by keeping our StEP stores stocked with essential supplies. You'll find our StEP Amazon Wish List here: https://lnkd.in/g33WTcV7 Thank you! #volunteering #givingback #Cincinnati #financialeducation #financialliteracy

As students gear up for another school year across the Tristate, our Susan Sargen Student Enterprise Program (StEP) team is buzzing with excitement as we finalize plans for an incredible year of StEP stores! We're thrilled to welcome new schools to the StEP family and are actively seeking business partners and volunteers to support our hardworking students. Through StEP, children earn StEP bucks for good behavior, attendance, and reaching classroom goals. Every quarter, our StEP team transforms school libraries, gyms, and multi-purpose rooms into lively stores, where students can choose to spend their earnings on school supplies, toys, sports equipment, and more. They can also save their StEP bucks (we pay them interest!) or donate to a charity chosen by their school. The best part? Our dedicated volunteers make each StEP store day special, interacting with the students at checkout and inspiring them to make thoughtful financial decisions. If your business is looking to make a meaningful impact this year, consider supporting the StEP program in one of the ways we've listed below. Our StEP Director, Erin Harris, has also set up an Amazon Wish List to help stock our StEP stores. You can make purchases from the list here: https://a.co/iFNVTEh Thank you for helping us make this the best year of StEP yet! #BackToSchool #StudentEnterprise #Volunteering #FinancialLiteracy #CommunityImpact

In this week's Susan Sargen Student Enterprise Program (StEP) Spotlight, meet Christine James, a dynamic 4th grade educator at North College Hill Elementary! Chrissy is our lead StEP teacher there, where she teaches in a self-contained classroom, covering Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies with her students. Chrissy’s been at North College Hill Elementary for six years and was an educator in Cincinnati Public Schools prior to that. She is a passionate advocate for financial education, and said she really appreciates how her students are learning how to handle earnings and plan their spending, savings, and donations early. She also said that her students learn important social skills through their interactions with our wonderful StEP volunteers. Thank you, Chrissy, for your dedication to shaping young minds and supporting StEP at North College Hill Elementary! #TeacherSpotlight #financialeducation #WorkThatMatters #StudentEnterprise

The Cincinnati Enquirer covered our researchers' work to measure the economic impact of local nonprofit organizations on behalf of the Human Services Chamber of Hamilton County. The study found that in 2022, nonprofits in the Cincinnati area had a direct economic output of $1.4 billion and an additional indirect economic output of $1.5 billion, through which 17,020 additional individuals were employed. This gives the 312 nonprofits studied a total of $2.9 billion in economic output, 41,023 jobs, and $1.3 billion in wages. #nonprofit #cincinnati #EconomicImpact #EconomicResearch
