🎓 BIG news for students and the Maine workforce! 🎓 Maine’s public universities will guarantee admission to graduates of the state’s community colleges starting this fall. But wait, there’s more... Under the terms of a historic #TransferME agreement signed yesterday by the University of Maine System (UMS) and the Maine Community College System, Maine’s community colleges will proactively notify their students about the opportunities to continue their postsecondary education through UMS. And the two public systems will provide interested transfer students with coordinated advising services. Transfer ME means: ✔ No application forms and fees ✔ No tracking down transcripts and recommendation letters ✔ Seamless transition to a bachelor's degree and a great-paying Maine career Learn more about how this game-changing partnership can open doors for you: https://lnkd.in/em49Xexg #teamworkmakesthedreamwork #TransferME Educate Maine Finance Authority of Maine Gov. 🌟 We’re thrilled when educators share their #AIMPathways success stories with us. A K-5 teacher from Maine recently completed Module 1: Overview of the Science of Reading, through our partnership with Maine Department of Education, and had great things to say! These stories are a testament to the powerful impact our evidence-based strategies have in classrooms. 🔗 Discover AIM’s Steps to Literacy Modules: https://bit.ly/4c8gONi #ResearchtoPractice #PartnerforImpact

With over half of Maine's Adult Education learners being multilingual, this institute plays a crucial role in preparing educators to support our diverse student population. This summer, thanks to the generous support from the Maine Outdoor Learning Initiative (Maine Department of Education), six high school groups are exploring sections of the Northern Forest Canoe Trail with teachers and professional guides. Program Manager Samantha Andrews recently returned from an unforgettable, nine-day excursion on the Allagash River with students from Forest Hills Consolidated School (Jackman) and Ashland District School. For many students, this was their first experience paddling long distances, camping and spending extensive hours outside. While settling into group dynamics can take time, by the end of their trip together, the students formed bonds, learned so much about challenging themselves, and were exposed to a beautiful and wild part of Maine that so many travel long distances to experience! Stay tuned for in-depth stories and interviews coming to our blog. We can't wait to share more photos and stories from these river adventures.
