Educurious is excited to announce our next The Library of Congress-Teaching with Primary Sources sponsored workshop: “Kaona: Language is Life.” The workshop will take place on Thursday, July 11th 2024 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm PST. Apply here: https://lnkd.in/ginZGqzq The unit deconstructs the AAPI acronym that represents about 50 ethnic groups and over 100 different languages and then zooms in on the Hawaiian sovereignty movement. Students discover how Hawaiian activists have advocated for ea—sovereignty, life, and air—and aloha ‘āina—"love of the land" or "to love like the land loves us"—and ultimately apply what they learned to their own lived experiences.

The Educurious team cherishes our time together in community as a team. Last week, we came together in Seattle to reflect on our work, past, present, and future goals and have some fun in the process!

The Educurious team had a great time at the MICHIGAN COUNCIL FOR THE SOCIAL STUDIES INC (MCSS) conference at Macomb ISD over the weekend. We got to meet with social studies educators and leaders from around the state. We look forward to coming back next year!
