Today, I had the honor of returning to the Instituto Tecnológico de Aguascalientes, where I completed my engineering degree, to deliver a talk titled "The Impact of Open-Source Tools on Mexican Semiconductor Design." It was an incredible experience to share my work and the insights I've gained in integrated circuit design. This talk was part of a collaboration between CINVESTAV UNIDAD GUADALAJARA and TecNM, where I also highlighted the significant initiative by companies like Efabless Corporation in democratizing access to semiconductor technology. I was pleased to see around 100 students from semiconductor and electronics engineering actively engaging in the discussion. I designed my first RFIC. It is 60GHz LNA. I made simulations and I made layout. Then I generated GDSII. It is designed in 130nm technology. It has 12dB so there is still room for improvement. I used openPDK from Efabless Corporation / IHP I used Razavi RF books as inspiration and reference.
