El Centro’s 2023 Back to School Family Expo was another successful year with approximately 600 families in attendance. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, El Centro distributed 1,200 backpacks filled with school supplies for elementary-aged children from local schools in the East End. Thank you to our volunteers from Comerica Bank and SESCO Cement Corp., and staff who donated their time to help make the event successful. Shout out to our vendors for providing community and promotional information to our families, Children's Museum Houston for 100 family passes, Kids' Meals, Inc. for providing 500 snacks, and Buffalo Bayou Partnership, Texas Children's Health Plan, and The Gonzalez Law Group, PLLC for providing additional backpacks and school supplies.
