At our quarterly observe/iterate meetings, we usually discuss a topic that helps us grow as an organization or as individuals. At our meeting last week our topic covered both--a presentation about Monica Guzman's book "I Never Thought of It That Way." On this day, nearly two years after President Abraham Lincoln declared the freedom of enslaved people in America, Union troops arrived at Galveston, Texas to enforce the Emancipation Proclamation.
