🌟: Celebrating 2 years of the Inflation Reduction Act! To mark the anniversary, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced another milestone today: the full $27B in GGRF funds have been obligated, officially opening the gates for IRA funding to flow to low-income and other underserved communities. We’re thrilled to mark this milestone by welcoming Adrian Deveny to our Policy Fellow Team. 🌱: Adrian brings 13 years of U.S. Senate experience in climate and energy policy working across the aisle - having led negotiations on the Inflation Reduction Act, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, the CHIPS and Science Act, and the Energy Act of 2020, amongst other key pieces of climate progress. He has worked for the Office of Global Change, the U.S. Department of State, and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) where he focused on renewable energy and energy efficiency. As a Policy Fellow at Elemental, Adrian will be assessing opportunities in federal climate policy, with an eye towards designing policies that support climate innovation and entrepreneurship. Our work with Adrian marks the next chapter in our Policy Fellows Program, as we continue to be responsive to the evolving needs of climate innovation. Now, more than ever, we must think of creative ways to move capital into the Scale Gap for critical climate technologies (reminder: we recently published that this gap is more than $150 billion!). Adrian joins recent Elemental policy fellows Leslie Abrahams, Catherine Coleman Flowers, Evan Weber, Frances Sawyer, Jameka Hodnett and Na'im Merchant, leaders from industry, government, and capital who are constructing and testing solutions that connect government and innovators in real ways. 🎧: Dive deeper: Read our Q&A with Adrian about the role of the IRA in and his hot take on what’s next for climate innovation ⏩ https://bit.ly/4dKOP7M
