Time flies when you're working with people you respect, making a positive impact on your stakeholders, and having fun! A little over a year ago, I joined Elliot Systems and teamed up with Pankaj Dhume and Girish Khilari to leverage our individual skill sets and start a services business. Since then, we have helped companies of all sizes across multiple industries build and manage cohesive technical teams across North America and Asia. In 2024, we have continued to grow aggressively, and in the second half of this year, we will expand into South America. As we launch our new website, www.elliotsystems.com, today, we would like to publicly highlight our abilities as a technology company offering both products and services to help: 1. Companies of all sizes build and manage teams across the world to lower costs and accomplish more. 2. Industrial and manufacturing facilities monitor and analyze their utility and machine usage and spend for a more sustainable future. Today, May 19th, 2024, marks the 40th anniversary of my arrival in New York from Mumbai. Leaving a loving family, a comfortable home, and a well-paying job, I faced an unknown future with a mix of trepidation and anticipation. These 40 years in America have been a wonderful journey. I earned two Master's degrees, moved multiple times, made lifelong friends, got married, had two beautiful children, and became a proud citizen. This note expresses gratitude to the strangers who became friends and offered me their love and support. Everyone tagged in this post has played an important role in my life these past 40 years. My first stop was in Kentucky where I was introduced to the American way of life. Thanks to the faculty and staff at KSU for helping me, the only Indian student on campus, transition smoothly. A special thank you to Mrs. Nita Moore, my landlady for tutoring me in American democracy. My second stop was at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Thanks to Prof. Steele for guiding & sustaining me with internships. Thanks to Subhash Dandage & Kanchan for adopting my young family. The acquisition of BGS Systems by BMC Software in 1998 was a turning point, moving us from Massachusetts to Texas. BMC CEO Bob Beauchamp provided me with significant opportunities, including asking me to start BMC's operations in India. From 2001 to my return in 2010, the India operation was a huge success growing to 1,500 employees & 25% of BMC’s global workforce. Building BMC's India operations was a unique opportunity, supported by many executives. Shannon Slocum was invaluable working side by side with me. Many colleagues from the USA, India & Israel also provided strong support. After returning to the US, I became responsible for BMC’s global real estate. Thank you to the incredibly talented team for successfully transforming the workplace culture with the “Office Of The Future” vision. I have made many good friends through my association with IACCGH, Pratham USA & TiE Houston in Houston. Giving back to the community is very fulfilling. In 2017, I embarked on a new journey as an entrepreneur, co-founding Elliot Systems with my wife Asha Dhume. We built a SaaS platform to help customers with analytics of their industrial devices using IoT technology. Recently, our son Gaurav Dhume joined to start our services offering, helping companies build and manage remote teams, manage application infrastructure, and offer professional services. I have been extremely fortunate to have Asha as my life partner. Her advice and unwavering support have been pivotal to my happiness and career success. Thank you, Asha, for the partnership, and I look forward to a happy future. The USA remains a beautiful and inviting country, offering equal opportunities to all. Reflecting on the last 40 years fills me with joy and gratitude for the numerous successful projects and talented individuals I’ve worked with. Thank you all. I am excited for the next 40!
