Improving recycling infrastructure, including expanded curbside collection, is essential to achieve full circularity for flexible packaging. The Emerging Leadership Council led by FPA is breaking down the industry’s current efforts towards moving flexible packaging into the circular economy below.

Discarded food is the largest source of waste in landfills across the United States and a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions and methane gas. Flexible packaging stands out as an environmentally conscious and efficient solution because it helps extend shelf life and therefore reduces food waste.
