✨ New Resource ✨ EnCompass Unveils a New Guide to Facilitating Meaningful Staff Transitions at USAID Over the last two years, EnCompass and USAID Mission leadership have co-led the design and implementation of two multiday, in-person Strategic Transition Planning workshops. Informed by lessons learned, this guide outlines the benefits of thoughtful transitions that position incoming staff and their colleagues for success, and how Missions can tailor the transition design to their unique contexts. USAID recently launched a new Knowledge Management and Organizational Learning (KMOL) Policy and a Knowledge Retention and Transfer (KRT) Toolkit, and EnCompass is honored to contribute this resource to accompany them. Knowledge sharing, relationships, and overcommunication are key to a successful staff transition. A smooth staff transition allows for agile continuity of the Agency’s lifesaving work. #KMOL #InstitutionalMemory #USAID #Learning https://lnkd.in/dKJyHb2N

Amplifying MEL Connections and Expertise in LAC Telling a compelling story of program effectiveness, amassing robust evidence for informed decision-making, and managing adaptively are just a few crucial ways that rigorous #monitoring, #evaluation, and #learning (MEL) can help maximize development outcomes. USAID’s #Latin #America and #Caribbean (LAC) Bureau team not only embraces rigorous MEL, but also has invested in creating and nurturing a LAC MEL Peer Network across USAID Missions in the region. From July 22-26, the Peer Network convened in El Salvador, engaging 33 participants from 13 LAC countries and Washington, DC. This fifth gathering, the first organized in the region, was hosted by USAID’s mission in El Salvador with critical support from the mission’s regional MEL Activity implemented by EnCompass. The high-energy and exciting five-day event saw MEL Specialists connecting with one another while also sharing expertise first-hand experiences using cutting-edge methods and practices. Highlighted efforts included USAID/Ecuador’s exploration of synthetic control methods, and USAID/Mexico’s use of leading practices for inclusive MEL, among other things. The Gathering struck the right balance between upskilling and honing the critical and multifaceted roles of MEL Specialists – as advisors, coaches, and experts. It underscored the Network's utility for peer learning and exchange among LAC missions and with Washington. The lively applause and smiles throughout the week reinforced the shared intentionality embodied in the refrain, “Together We Grow.” Adriana Abreu-Combs, Karen Cordova, Laura Villegas, Beatriz Flores , Aracely Margarita Villalta #USAID’s #LAC #Bureau, #MEL, #Network, #MELPeerNetwork

🌟 Celebrating achievements! 🌟 In June, we gathered in Washington, DC, for the #GEDI 2023-2024 Commencement Ceremony. It was an honor for EnCompass to join in celebrating the incredible accomplishments of the American Evaluation Association GEDI interns, including Millicent Gyan, who we hosted this past year. Millie made significant contributions to several projects within our TA & Eval practice area, notably the MacArthur Foundation Big Bet on #Nigeria project and the U.S. Department of State PAIRS project. The Graduate Education Diversity Internship (GEDI) Program offers paid #internships and #training opportunities during the academic year, aiming to engage and support students from groups traditionally under-represented in the field of #evaluation.
