Helping families navigate through their child's journey with cancer for 20 years.

About us

The Emilio Nares Foundation (ENF) helps families navigate their child's journey with cancer. We assure that no child misses their cancer treatment due to lack of transportation. ENF programs include: Ride With Emilio Serving San Diego, Imperial, and Orange Counties, our flagship program Ride With Emilio provides free transportation for underprivileged children and their parents to and from the hospital for cancer-related appointments. Emilio's Loving Tabs Our specially designed shirts facilitate access to medical devices without requiring a scared child to remove their garment. The drytech material is breathable and soft against tender skin. We designed Emilio's Loving Tabs to easily open at the shoulder with snaps, enabling medical providers to access the permanent Port-a-Cath positioned at the child's chest to receive chemotherapy treatment, take blood samples and other procedures. ENF Family Resource Center Our trained, bilingual staff members help navigate families through honest dialogue. They provide access to information on the type of cancer they are fighting, treatment, housing, employment, financial aid, legal aid and other forms of assistance. Creating for Hope Our free sewing, knitting, and crocheting classes become group therapy as families meet others who are going through a similar situation. It's a coping mechanism for our moms to keep busy while spending long hours at the hospital. These activities are proven to reduce stress and promote healing. Emilio's Snack Bags ENF provides hospital-approved snack bags which are distributed by oncology nurses after they receive their treatment and have been fasting. End of Life Child and Family Care During the last days of a child's life, ENF aids families with financial aid, funeral costs, fulfillment of children's wishes, meal cards and end of life ceremonies.
