Our latest Seniors Keys to Independence Program (SKIP) participants graduated after completing training at our new location in Farmers Branch! SKIP is a program funded by the Texas Workforce Commission that sends older individuals from all over Texas who are in need of blind skills training or low vision rehabilitation services to training centers where they learn independent living skills. Our participants learned a variety of living skills and tools to help them maintain their independence! #LowVisionRehabilitation #BlindSkills #Blind #LowVision #LowVisionTools #AssistiveTechnology

MaryBeth Clare, an Envision employee, recently visited the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C. to advocate for increased employment opportunities for individuals who are blind or visually impaired (BVI), specifically advocating for a 1% utilization goal for @[\<span class="highlight-mention" data-mention-id="urn:li:organization:1299603" contenteditable="false"\>U.S. AbilityOne Commission](272834715264) </span>by the U.S. Department of Defense. If this 1% goal is met, it would open the door for thousands of people who are BVI to have more employment opportunities through the @[\<span class="highlight-mention" data-mention-id="urn:li:organization:33885" contenteditable="false"\>National Industries for the Blind](151118461626131) </span>and its affiliated agencies, like Envision. Thank you, MaryBeth for #ChampioningEmploymentGrowth . #BlindEmployment #NIB
