About us
EPIC Long Island has served the Long Island community for 60 years, beginning as a small agency dedicated to helping families affected by epilepsy. Through the years, our services have expanded to meet the evolving needs of our communities and we currently provide services to hundreds of individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health challenges and epilepsy. EPIC Long Island’s wide range of services for adults with developmental disabilities includes: 18 residential facilities throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties; a weekday program for Day Habilitation and Saturday respite program; and community habilitation; and specialty developmental disabilities clinics. Our mental health clinics provide therapeutic services to children and adults for challenges that range from temporary, short-term issues to severe psychiatric disorders. EPIC Long Island is a unique resource for our Long Island community as a provider of training, education and support programs related to epilepsy. Our knowledgeable staff will train and provide informational materials at no cost to teachers, healthcare professionals, and community groups. We offer tailored educational programs for students from elementary through high school that demonstrate what epilepsy is, what it isn’t and how to administer first-aid someone having a seizure.
