    Do you often find yourself in a place where you're juggling so many different projects and responsibilities that you have no idea how to prioritise your time to manage everything properly? LinkedIn is the major reason I'm having a period like this myself. I bring in 90% of my work through LinkedIn and business is doing really well at the moment. On top of that, I'm a part of this #BrightonUnited movement that started with one of my posts here about Black and Brown people being under-represented in business environments around the city. LinkedIn is a powerful place for growing a business or a community. But just like I'm experiencing, that growth can almost get out of control sometime. That's a great problem to be fair. And I hope that everyone who's waiting on a response from me regarding work or #BrightonUnited will have just a little bit more patience with me. I should be on top of things by the end of the week. And for anyone wondering if LinkedIn is worth putting effort into. Yes. It's extremely effective if you're intentional and have a strategic approach to connecting and sharing with others.     👍🏾 You should make it a priority to gather testimonials from your clients. 📋 To make it easier, here are a few pointers on capturing testimonials and sharing them with your audience. 🟢 Let your client know as soon as the project starts that you would like to a testimonial from them once the work has been completed. 🟢 Film every testimonial that you can. While polished ones like this one from Jon Barnes are extremely powerful, a simple testimonial captured via zoom or on a mobile phone is very useful too. 🟢 Have a list of questions prepared and make sure the client restates the question as part of their answer. 🟢 Try to shape questions that give context to your values, what future clients can expect, the impact of your work and the feeling that comes from working with you. 🟢 Use your testimonials as a way of gathering honest feedback about what could be improved in your working process. Testimonials are easy to overlook and, in some cases, tricky to gather. But as you start working with bigger and more established clients, testimonials are one of the best ways to showcase what you deliver while giving an idea of what it's like to work with you. I was able to turn this testimonial into a mini-introduction / pitch for future clients. I've had a lot of inquiries about my work recently, and I edited this testimonial specifically to forward it to warm leads. Having footage of our work together helped to take this from a simple "I'm happy with what we produced", and turn it into a presentation of sorts. ✅ Find ways to gather footage of your work together. ✅ Get a tiny phone tripod and gather clips of you consulting, doing paperwork, working on spreadsheets, going for coffee. These little nuggets will be gold when it comes to compiling case studies and testimonials. ✅ If you're working on high-value projects, consider having a professional film your testimonial for you.     You have permission to be yourself and connect with like-minded people here on LinkedIn. 🫱🏾🫲🏽The easiest way to do this is by being intentional with your messaging. Your first two touchpoints in your messaging are: ✅profile photo ✅headline Most of you stop there. 🧑🏽💻Some are brave enough to comment. 📑Fewer probably DM. But the fearless actually post messages as photos, copy and even videos 😱. 😖Unfortunately, the most fearless among us often share messages in ways that are completely cringeworthy to everyone else on LinkedIn. And that's a shame. Because one of the best results we get from sharing messages is building a relationship. And whether that relationship is professional or romantic, to get the best result, there are a few things about our messaging we should always keep in mind: 1️⃣Be clear on what you're looking for in the relationship 2️⃣Focus on the priorities and needs of the other person 3️⃣Directly state your congruent objectives 🧘🏽♂️Being intentional with your messaging will allow you to be yourself while connecting with the people you align with. And if you get your messaging right with a mindset for helping others, you'll go a long way towards making LinkedIn or any other space a lot more pleasant for everyone else there. ✌🏾 #connection #messaging #relationshipbuilding

    Copywriting is probably the most powerful medium for spreading awareness of your business. It's definitely right up there with design, which I could easily argue as being the most important as well. Not many businesses hesitate to hire either. And when it comes time to build their websites, they make due with the images they have onhand. Or they share a link to an awful YouTube video that they filmed a few years back, knowing that those aren't the things that actually convince people to buy. But a select few businesses know what a solid investment it is to have professional photos and videos in the archives. Those businesses are in another league I guess. Luckily, I get to work with those business all the time. It's a pleasure working with the ones who get it. It's a chance to tell their stories to warm audiences in ways that add value to what they have to offer while breaking down resistance in terms of price or process. Invest in you copy. Invest in design. And if you really get it, now you know where to invest in your photos and videos too 😊. #photography #video #contentcreation

    😩 Today is the start of a gruelling spell. 🌧️ Today is the first official day of The Edit. 💩 Editing sucks. 🤡 That is unless you're into editing. 😜 And that would just make you weird. 👷🏾 But seriously, editing is a grind. 📽️ Sifting through 4 tb of footage. Luckily no crashes so far (ikr! 😯). 🙈 About ten o'clock this morning I was hating life. 🙇🏾♂️ But I reminded myself that this moment in the photo would come. 🥳 There's always this sweet point when the edit has come together 🌟 And you can revel in that feeling that you've outdone yourself. 😎 I'm stoked for me. I'm stoked for my clients. And I'm spurred on to knock out the next 12 videos. 🚀 Can't wait to share the results. I'm blown away myself, tbh. ⏰ But in the meantime. ☕ I'm gonna ride out this coffee-buzz. 🏋🏾 Hit the gym later.     😞 This is the face of yet another stressed-out creative. 🌟 Worse, their stress has come from exactly what they wished for. 🌍 A fantastic three-day project abroad creating various pieces of content for an amazing client in Stockholm, Sweden. 📸 There's nothing like having to meticulously plan and pack for a multi-day shoot. 🎙️ Interviews 📷 Headshots 📽️ Event Filming 🎬 Location Filming 💼 Everything needed to showcase a top-tier event and transform the resulting assets into shortform content, website hero pieces, case studies, profile pics, marketing content, and anything relating to personal branding. 🤝 Luckily, I have an amazing team at my back. 🌟 And at the top of that list is experienced Television and Documentary Producer Megan Bay Dorman. 💼 This is the first project where I've worked with a producer, and there is no going back. 🤯 What we've been able to do so far in terms of planning and logistics has been mind-blowing. 🧠 Add to that the pivotal strategy session hosted by resident genius Toby Moore, and you start to see the picture more clearly. 🪙 And with my latest addition of an absolute titan of an editor (gotta keep his name under wraps or one of you other creators will surely try to poach him 😂), I feel more prepared to deliver impeccable results than ever before. 🤗 So while I feel the stress of having to pack and arrange kit for days of filming and photographing, I'm comforted knowing that I have some of the best and brightest at my back. 🌐 In the meantime, I should probably get off social media and finish packing. 😂 😃 Wish us luck! ✌🏾 #videoproduction #eventvideography #contentcreator #teamwork
