Brenda, our Head Start ERSEA Supervisor, has dedicated 25 years to serving ECS children and families. She began her career as a 19-year-old volunteer, later became a Family Support Technician, and is now a supervisor. Brenda embodies our core value of empowerment by consistently fostering a collaborative environment among staff. Outside of ECS, Brenda embraces her artistic side and enjoys painting "pop art" on tennis shoes and other clothing items. Thank you, Brenda. Each month, ECS recognizes an exemplary employee who demonstrates our core values. #ECSsandiego

Embrie Tapia, Director of Behavioral Health Services, and Geri Bannister, Senior Data Quality Manager, represented ECS at the recent System of Care Collaborative, hosted by Health Management Associates and the California Department of Health Care Services. The group discussed trends and interventions for substances like fentanyl, xylazine, and cannabinoids. Furthermore, ECS partnered with several other behavioral health programs to develop a detailed map of access points for Medication Assisted Treatment, enhancing referral processes and improving treatment accessibility. Such partnerships are crucial as we address public health challenges and strive for better outcomes. #ECSsandiego

ECS kicked off Pride Month by attending the 16th Annual Harvey Milk Diversity Breakfast, a gathering that celebrated the progress in LGBTQ+ equality while acknowledging the work that remains. Angel Ibarra, our Associate Director of Strategic Partnerships & Government Affairs, alongside board members Jennifer Jow, MBA, MOM and Rev. Richard Lee, were joined by members of St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral and St. Mark’s Episcopal Church to honor this cause. Event proceeds benefited The San Diego LGBT Community Center. #ECSsandiego

🚨 Urgent Call to Action! 🚨 Early childhood services are at risk! Over 11,000 subsidized childcare slots may be cut, and vital behavioral health programs like ECS Para Las Familias face funding shortages due to decreased tax revenues. These changes threaten critical support systems needed for the development and well-being of low-income children and families. Take action now by visiting https://ow.ly/vh7m50SiuCG!
