The 2024 Spring Training season is now complete! Over four intense weeks (divided into two sessions), from March 4th to April 1st, a total of 57 pilots sharpened their skills under our annual training curriculum. This consisted of ground training covering company, safety, standardization, and firefighting operations, as well as pilots completing their annual FAA flight check rides. This year we introduced Sea Snorkel training for the first time, which was added to the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) carding. Erickson leads the industry in sea snorkel operations and provided guidance to the USFS for establishing the Practical Test Standards (PTS). Here's a snapshot of the stats that represent hard work from our team: Hours Flown: 94.7 Ground/Safety Training: 57 attendees Check Rides: 49, with 13 successful 61.55s and 36 impressive 61.58s completions USFS Carding: 18 pilots, including 11 Pond Snorkel and 6 Sea Snorkel check rides Type Training: 4 attendees completed 40 hours of systems and emergency procedures plus 10 hours of flight training
