  • I love Brené Brown's teaching on being courageous through vulnerability. By her definition, being vulnerable is having the courage to lean in when things get tough -- to not quit when you're facing uncertainty or feeling exposed. Being courageous in the sense of being vulnerable is so important. Why? Because creativity, innovation, taking action is reliant on vulnerability -- on leaning in when it's uncomfortable. So, how do you do it? We do it with the three things I'm going to outline for you here. • Want to achieve more of your goals? This counter-intuitive strategy involves 4 steps and they have nothing to do with the typical advice related to writing them down and planning your actions. The first step is never talked about and that is understanding your unique logic style - your behavioral approach to achieving tasks and goals. • Want to know the best way to approach your job search? 👇 🛑 Stop arguing for your limitations. That means stop telling yourself stories like :: >> it's taking too long >> I don't have the right skills >> too old, too young, too _________ While you're at it, stop arguing for the limitations of other things, too :: >> the system is broken >> the market is terrible >> the ATS is to blame The only thing arguing for your own limitations or the limitations of others is going to do for you is make you feel terrible. Feeling terrible is not an emotional state that's going to motivate you to take action on all the job search stuff. Feeling terrible isn't going to empower you to show up as your best self when you're writing your resume or doing an interview. The best approach to a job search is to do whatever you can to feel good. Feel good, then follow that up with inspired action instead of feeling terrible and forcing the action. Try it this week. You won't regret it. Always for you, Elissa #JobSearch #Careers #GetHired

  • There's nothing worse than feeling stuck. >> A job that doesn't fully leverage your skills >> A toxic job that's draining the life out of you >> A company that no longer aligns with values But have you ever thought that you might be so focused on those circumstances that you're keeping yourself stuck. It's called arguing for limitations. As long as you keep arguing for the situations, people and events that are of your control, you'll stay stuck. Don't do that to yourself. Watch this week's podcast episode to learn an easy way to manage your brain and break through any limitation. Always for you, Elissa P.S. Don't forget to subscribe to my channel. I drop new episodes and job search and LinkedIn demo videos every week.

  • In this episode I explore the concept of breaking through limitations and how to overcome them. I delve into the various types of limitations, the psychology behind them, and practical strategies for addressing and overcoming them. We're all humans, my friends. But we don't have to let those limitations hold us back. Takeaways: >> Limitations can be self-imposed or imposed by external circumstances. >> Processing thoughts and emotions is key to overcoming limitations. >>Emotional guidance can help identify when one is arguing for limitations. >> Awareness of thoughts and feelings is crucial for breaking through. Sound Bites: What would it mean to you to actually break through your limitations? What would it mean to break through the limitations that you believe exist in the circumstances all around you? It could change everything, right? Always for you, Elissa Subscribe to the Love Your Work Life podcast on YouTube https://lnkd.in/gjAcd7ye
