The message from the custodians of the Tracking SDG7 Report 2024 announced the new estimate of people worldwide w/out access to electricity has grown to 685 million. A must-read!    New World Bank loans approved for Guinea-Bissau in Solar Energy to Expand Access to Electricity. After many years of progress toward reaching #SDG7, new analysis shows the global #EnergyAccess gap worsened in 2022, as population growth outpaced new connections. Resulting in a step back in breaching the gap to meet the #2030Agenda, as 685 million remain w/out electricity💡 Although major progress has been made in Asia to reduce the number of people without access to electricity, in Sub-Saharan Africa, that number is still rising.   📈 FACT: The region was home to over 80% of those lacking access in 2022.
