The EU Ecolabel is the official label of environmental excellence of the European Commission.

About us

Established in 1992, the EU Ecolabel is the official EU ecolabel of environmental excellence. It is a third party certified ISO 14024 Type I ecolabel aimed to promote products and services which have a reduced environmental impact, thus helping consumers distinguish the most environmentally friendly products available on the market. Over the past 30 years, a growing number of companies have chosen to rethink their product manufacturing by applying the EU Ecolabel’s “circular approach” to their traditional production processes. This allowed them not only to access new market opportunities, but also to reduce costs. EU Ecolabel criteria exist for 25 different product and service groups ranging from paints, cosmetics, and detergents to tourist accommodations. Criteria are carefully designed by technical experts to take each product lifecycle step—from raw material extraction, to production, distribution and disposal - into consideration.
