Revel a New York City-based public EV fast charging provider, is expanding into Los Angeles with a major installation in the downtown area. OpenSys (M) Berhad has unveiled its first direct current (DC) charging station for EVs in Penang, Malaysia. The charging station consists of a 40KW charger, called the Falcon ChargePro. It is equipped with two #EVcharging guns and a multi-function payment terminal. US DOUBLES NUMBER OF EV CHARGERS: The Biden-Harris Administration says the number of publicly available EV chargers in the US has doubled on its watch. There are now over 192,000 publicly available charging ports with approximately 1,000 new public chargers being added each week. The administration has announced US$521m in grants to continue building out #EVcharging and alternative-fuelling infrastructure across 29 states, eight Federally Recognized Tribes, and the District of Columbia, including the deployment of more than 9,200 EV charging ports. In what it says is a UK industry first, char.gy has successfully integrated and expanded its EV charging network by taking over existing infrastructure in the London boroughs of Richmond and Wandsworth. GREEN LIGHT FOR CALIFORNIA RURAL CHARGING PROJECT: The California Energy Commission (CEC) has approved US$2.5m for the first part of a two-phase US$27m "Responsive, Easy Charging Products with Dynamic Signals" (REDWDS) grant. The grant is for the Rural Electrification And Charging Technology (REACT) project to deploy charging technology on farms and at other rural locations that is responsive to dynamic grid signals. US$6M RAISED TO SCALE "WORLD'S FIRST" SOLAR DC-TO-DC CHARGER: Enteligent has raised US$6m in capital from investors to scale the commercialisation of its photovoltaic (PV) module-level power optimisers and its DC-to-DC based bi-directional EV chargers.
