A week or two of reflection has afforded a deeper recollection of all that took place over those action-packed days in Copenhagen last month at the wonderful DTW - Ignite program put together by TM Forum! So pleased to have had that opportunity to connect with the many folks across the telco landscape as we spread the word on Evergent’s ability to improve the subscriber experience with speed, agility and no disruption to legacy BSS. A few of my observations… 1. Telco systems aren’t evolving in order to capture the market opportunity. They remain slow and cumbersome. There remains a fantastic opportunity, yet these entities need to be willing to embrace an agile mindset. 2. The self-serve "Netflix-like" experience for subscriber acquisition and retention remains quite the elusive goal - with many operators citing inflexible backend systems as the cause for current challenges. 3. AI is still in its infancy when it comes to subscriber acquisition and retention workflows. An informal poll among the operators I spoke with at DTW indicated weak to no penetration and no clear plans (but that will likely change).
