#Leadership axioms are universally accepted principles for achieving the highest level of effectiveness and integrity. ECofOC CEO, Steve Smith has created 14 axioms. Here is Axiom#8: “Part of the leader’s role is to develop people which requires feeding back observations about behavior, performance, etc. #feedback can be positive or critical but should always be objective and should always be received openly. Giving productive feedback that will benefit the employee should not be a surprise. It should be offered as a suggestion that employee is willing to hear. They may not like the message but if they agree to receive it, they are more likely to carefully consider your council. When feedback is forced on someone, regardless of it’s intended benefit, the tendency is to dismiss it or downplay it. When this happens, neither the leader or the employee benefit. You know you’ve done this well when the receiver doesn’t like what they hear but thanks you for telling them.” Learn more about ECofOC's executive coaching services for nonprofit leaders at www.ECofOC.org

Meet ECofOC Coach, D. Renee Christensen, PhD, PCC: “ECofOC offers me a wonderful opportunity for personal growth. I appreciate the opportunity to work with a larger more diverse group of clients with unique needs that can test and stretch my thinking and abilities. In addition is the amazing opportunity to work alongside the people who compose the Executive Coaches. I have a great appreciation for the educational and experiential levels sitting at the table. I come out of every meeting with a new idea or understanding. I find that no one is a master of all trades. Each of us has a unique gift and skill set to offer others. Being a part of this team means that I have a plethora of highly skilled and talented teammates from which to draw knowledge and assistance.” Learn more about ECofOC's pro bono coaching services for nonprofit leaders at www.ECofOC.org #ecofoc #NonProfitLeadership #NonProfitOrganization #ExecutiveCoaching

Smith will be the new head of the Executive Director Forum. Nader Nemati takes the helm as Marketing Chair, Brenda Beckett, MA, SHRM-SCP, SPHR will lead our social media efforts, and Shaheen Husain assumes the role of CEO! Finally, we announced that new coach, Enrique Baltierra, SPHR has completed the orientation process and is ready to take on new clients. We are excited to welcome our new leadership and coach to the ECofOC family. Our meeting theme, "Coaching Leaders in Today's Workforce," delved into the challenges faced by leaders amidst evolving employee behavior trends and the rise of the millennial generation in the workplace. We explored the complexities of the current workforce environment, from defining the "new normal" post-COVID to navigating remote vs. in-person work dynamics. The increasing presence of Gen Z and millennials in C-suite roles, coupled with shifting employee expectations and concerns like burnout and mental wellbeing, also took center stage. Excited to navigate these transformative times with such a dedicated team of ECofOC coaches! #LeadershipDevelopment #Coaching #WorkforceTrends #ECofOCMonthlyMeeting #ProBonoCoaching

What is the status of your #nonprofit organization’s #StrategicPlan? Are you actively using it?? Where is it located?? Maybe collecting dust in a drawer or hidden as a PDF on your computer. Does it need to be updated and revised?? Amanda Pearce of Funding For Good writes an informative article titled ”When to Revise a Strategic Plan?" She defines a strategic plan as: "A live document that defines where your organization is going, offers a roadmap on how you plan to get there, and outlines specific ways to determine if you have "arrived at the destination.” Check out her full article at:

Meet ECofOC Coach, Monica Horner: “The moment my clients realize the answer came from within them is the most rewarding part of coaching. My goal is to listen and to help bring out the best in my clients even on their toughest days. I don’t know all the answers but I have in many instances, walked in my clients’ shoes and have experienced the daily highs and lows of the nonprofit world. Fresh out of college, I began my career at Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. After 13 years as a fundraising professional at Second Harvest, I decided it was time to transition to my new role as stay-at-home Mom. During that time, I discovered Executive Coaches of Orange County (ECofOC) and fell in love with coaching. My clients are helping me write a new chapter in my life and I believe I’m helping them write theirs.” Learn more about ECofOC's pro bono coaching services for nonprofit leaders at www.ECofOC.org #NonProfitOrganization #NonProfitLeadership #ECofOC #ExecutiveCoaching
