Creating a world where no child goes to bed hungry.
About us
Feed the Children exists to defeat childhood hunger. Our organization was founded in 1979, and we are proud to be a leading US-based anti-hunger nonprofit. We serve those in need in the United States and eight countries around the world, providing food, education, essentials and clean water/hygiene initiatives. We operate five distribution centers located in Oklahoma, Indiana, Arizona, Tennessee and Pennsylvania. In our 2023 fiscal year, we distributed over 86.4 million pounds of food and essentials to children and families in the U.S. Internationally, we worked out of 192 strategic locations in Africa, Asia and Central America, providing food and other benefits to over 4.7 million people. Feed the Children is accredited by Candid (formerly GuideStar Exchange) and the BBB Wise Giving Alliance, and has a three-star rating on Charity Navigator.

It was a busy May! Last month, with our partners at FedEx and #FedExCares, we’ve handed out 400 boxes of food for families and nearly 3,000 backpacks filled with school supplies and hygiene items at four events across the US. Thank you FedEx for all your support and volunteers who made it possible!

Feed the Children is proud to announce our wins in the 45th annual Telly Awards! Our team did an amazing job communicating the stories surrounding the work we do and the people we serve with compassion, clarity, and a clear passion for their craft. We were able to take home 12 Telly Awards, in recognition of two of our seasonal public service awareness videos. "This year, we set out to share new perspectives on childhood hunger. We want to show how hardships like food insecurity are all around us and to remind everyone that taking one small step together today can build lasting impact for tomorrow," said Chris Gard, Feed the Children's Vice President of Marcom & Creative. We're so excited to have been featured on the second episode of the Oklahoma Hospital Association's podcast, Inside the 1581! Julie Laird Davis, our Senior VP of Strategic Partnerships and Individual Giving, joined to talk about food insecurity in our state. Listen at the link below!
Episode Two of the Inside the 1581 podcast is out now, and this week host Rich Rasmussen dives into the tough topics. Rasmussen explores the issue of food insecurity faced by families in Oklahoma and sheds light on the efforts of local hospitals to address this pressing issue. In this compelling episode, a representative from Feed The Children talks about food deserts, poverty, and their effects on the health of Oklahoma families. We also visit with DRH Health about the innovative ways they are tackling food insecurity with their patients. Inside The 1581 is available wherever you listen to podcasts, or you can view it here: https://lnkd.in/d4YAjUpW

At Feed the Children, we don’t just work with corporations – we forge connections with partners who share our commitment to their communities and to ending childhood hunger. We’re proud to work with Americold Logistics, LLC., who chose to celebrate the opening of their new facility in Russellville, AR, with a Feed the Children Resource Rally to provide food to over 300 local families. After the ribbon cutting, each family received a 25-pound box of food and a 15-pound box of essential household and hygiene items.🍎

Great news from Newnan, GA! We partnered with Niagara Bottling to help distribute food and essentials to 400 families served at One Roof Outreach. Each family received a 25-lb box of food and a 15-lb box of personal hygiene items and essentials. Almost 10% of Newnan’s population lives below the poverty line. Events like this can play a huge role in making sure people have everything they need for their daily lives. This is just the first of many events to look forward to this year with Niagara!
