We were honored to accept the 2024 Pillars of the Community Award today from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh for the work that our teams have done in our communities where they work and live. Through the Affordable Housing Program, we have been able to support 40 projects since 2017 to create, rehabilitate and preserve hundreds of units of affordable housing. In 2023, we served 100 first-time homebuyers with nearly half-a-million dollars in down payment and closing cost assistance through First Front Door (FFD). Our support of the Home4Good program has helped to fund 25 projects across several counties in 2023, providing people with home security. Congratulations to Megan Detwiler, who has been part of our team for nine years, for being named to the role of Community Engagement Manager. Megan started at First Commonwealth in March of 2015 and has held roles on the retail banking team and product management teams, including Financial Solutions Manager, Small Business Solutions Specialist and Product Manager. She most recently served as a Senior Analyst and Project Manager for the bank’s retail team. In her new position, Megan will partner across all areas of the bank, regionally and corporately, to lead First Commonwealth’s community giving through donations and sponsorships, in addition to equipping the bank’s local teams to represent our brand at events and volunteer opportunities. Megan and her husband, Dan, live in Altoona, PA, with their daughter, Ella.
