We’re all drawn to the cannabis industry for different reasons. But it’s our ‘why’ that keeps us persevering. For KC Santana, Host of the Chiefah Entertainment Podcast, it’s about de-stigmatizing through educating people on the plant. WHAT’S YOUR PERSONAL “WHY” (YOUR PASSION) FOR WORKING IN CANNABIS? Now that I'm almost 40, it’s more about de-stigmatizing through educating people on the plant. I’m passionate about being a voice for the roots of the community and being an asset to the industry! WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE INTERESTED IN A CAREER IN CANNABIS? First of all, have pure intentions about the future of this plant. Secondly, respect the legacy of the culture and really get to know the Emerald Triangle farmers and their stories. Lastly, know it’s very competitive and requires a whole lot of heart! CANNABIS HELPS ME _____. Recover from training quicker, be more creative, and most definitely keep me energized every day. HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR CANNABIS WORK COMMUNITY? HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM OTHER WORK ENVIRONMENTS YOU’VE KNOWN? I built my career in the financial industry. A retail finance branch is operated very similarly to a cannabis retail shop, but they are still two different worlds. I absolutely love being my authentic -self now that I’m working in the cannabis space. I feel like I’m living my true purpose. HOW DO YOU SEE CANNABIS IMPACTING YOUR COMMUNITY? Moms all over the world are finally using their voices; veterans need it; and professional athletes are speaking about their love for the plant. We can only keep moving forward from here. Ultimately, I am hoping the plant gets descheduled! Check out the Chiefah Entertainment Podcast here ----> https://lnkd.in/e5FP2rCV #thatsmywhy #cannabiscareers

We’re all drawn to the cannabis industry for different reasons. But it’s our ‘why’ that keeps us persevering. For Sam McAdam a Director of Wholesale in Las Vegas, NV, it's about the plant’s medicinal properties that he has experienced first hand. WHAT’S YOUR PERSONAL “WHY” (YOUR PASSION) FOR WORKING IN CANNABIS? Cannabis literally saved my life; I've had my entire large intestine removed, over a dozen procedures on my abdomen, multiple life-threatening infections, and more. Cannabis provided me with relief and comfort and gave me the ability to eat, sleep, and recover when western medicine failed. Combining cannabis with a disciplined physical regimen, diet, and consistency has given me something that doctors told me I may never have again. Now I train twice a day, 6 days a week, and I am in the best shape of my life, mentally and physically. WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE INTERESTED IN A CAREER IN CANNABIS? Be adaptable. Our industry is still young and chaotic, but if you can remain adaptable and humble, you can learn a lot and apply it accordingly. HOW HAS WORKING IN THE INDUSTRY IMPACTED YOUR CANNABIS USE? YOUR PERCEPTION OF THE PLANT? I am more selective of what I consume and appreciative of certain strains, terpenes and quality. The industry has shown me how different companies see the plant, which has made me appreciative of the ones who respect and value it. HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR CANNABIS WORK COMMUNITY? HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM OTHER WORK ENVIRONMENTS YOU’VE KNOWN? Many people in our industry have a "why" and that is something I did not find in other industries, we all know the pains that we deal with collectively, and I think there is a sense of solidarity amongst the employees who know the volatility of the industry and support one another. #thatsmywhy #peopleincannabis
