Over 80% of Forecastr's new business comes through partner referrals. 🤯 So, how do you build a strong network of referral partners? Something that has been foundational for Forecastr has been the #GiveFirst mentality and culture that was engrained in the DNA of the company when Steven Plappert and Logan Burchett went through Techstars. When thinking about successful partnerships, it is essential to ask the question, "What is in it for them?" If a partnership is one-sided, it is not really a partnership. One simple question we like to ask our partners is, "What does a huge win from this partnership look like for you?" Another essential element I've found in successful partnerships is creating clear expectations and definitions for your partner to act upon. This is something I learned first-hand from one of our partners, John Heberling at Kickfurther. We recently invited John to do a training session with our Analyst and CFO Services team members to educate them on Kickfurther and how they are able to help serve some of our clients. Kickfurther provides inventory financing for consumer brands and CPG companies to help them grow their businesses. John did a phenomenal job of building trust with our team and then outlined exactly what they should look for in companies that would make them a good fit to refer to Kickfurther for financing. This was something I immediately recognized that I could do better in working with our partners --- defining what to look for in companies that would make them a good fit for Forecastr. So, I decided to create a reference guide of sorts for our partners to help them know when it makes sense for them to refer a company to us. I found this to be a helpful exercise for myself ..... and hopefully it is also helpful for our partners to make it easy to know when it makes sense for them to send referrals to Forecastr.
